I
have had the privilege of being the Principal of Kaikohe
Intermediate for the last five years and prior to
that the teaching Principal Of Te Kura O Horeke.
My whanau and I have been living in Te Taitokerau
for the last 10 years, our own children attend local
kura and enjoy the opportunities provided for them.
I am an active member of our Akatokerau whanau and
am absolutely committed to the provision of the highest
educational opportunities possible for all Maori students.
I believe that empowerment of others and collective
responsibility for success for our tamariki and rangatahi
provides opportunities for leadership at all levels.
I grew up in Mangere in beautiful South Auckland and
began my teaching Career in 1991 at the tender age
of 21. During my time teaching in Auckland I spent
two years at Weymouth Intermediate and six Years at
Clover Park Middle school.
I enjoy utilising the natural resources of the Far-North
and dive and fish as often as I can, I am proud to
be a member of the Te akatea Executive and look forward
to the challenges that will be faced over the next
two years.
